Body Media International (Pvt.) Ltd. Is a long time believer in the ethos of sustainability and environmental protection. We firmly believe in transparency and the protection of our employees, the community, and our environment. Our sustainability journey started many years ago with small steps to conserve electricity, on the way we insured by making are facility completely safe and non-hazardous for our employees, then we insured our structural integrity all the while making sure that none of the social compliances were left unattended and these days we are working nonstop to reduce our carbon footprint

Water Treatment and Water purifying reverse osmosis plant

Regarding the wastewater, we have a treatment plant installed already and we are planning to upgrade that plant to support this. We also have a reverse osmosis plant at our facility which ensures that water provided to our employees and to the community around our facility is clean and safe to drink. Safe drinkable water is unavailable to many people in Pakistan, however, we are trying to play a small part in helping people with that.
Laundry Upgradation
We have recently refurbished our laundry machines which are now much more electricity and water efficient. The chemicals which we use at our premises are by the well-known multinational firm Dystar. The chemicals come with a REACH certification and we are aiming to reach Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals. Our laundry staff is well informed about the water conservation practices and they take good measures to support the company policy.
Energy Efficient Machinery
Our stitching machines are all fitted with energy efficient slow start motors. Our entire facility has LED lights to ensure that electricity is not being a waster. On top of that we are proud to say that our facility is completely fire and electric hazard safe. Our staff is well trained in matters of compliances and fully supports us in this. We also care for the health of our employees and therefore often hold health camps for general check-up and well-being of our people. Also, we provide our staff with free health care and old age benefits to provide them the peace of mind they truly deserve.
200 KW Solar Power plant
Another recent project of ours has been to install a 200 KW solar power plant at our facility. This has been a big achievement for us. the steps to increase our power generation capacity are underway as well. This helps us decrease our carbon footprint and moves us towards clean energy sources. It helps us to reduce our reliance on electricity and standby generators. Due to this, not only has our electricity consumption gone down, but also our fuel consumption has reduced as this gives us an uninterrupted and clean source of power. We do not just want to reduce our carbon footprint, but also want to be self-reliant when it comes to the matters of energy and this is the first step.
Green and Cool Environment
We believe that the working environment should be peaceful and comfortable for our people therefore we have a policy of a ‘Visually Green’ premises. Our manufacturing facility has lush green lawns, trees and even supports a healthy number of squirrels and birds which have gathered at our facility simply because with all the trees and plants they feel as if they are in their natural habitat. Pakistani summers are notorious for their heat, we have recently installed a specialized cooler system in our manufacturing halls to decrease the summer temperature by 10 degree centigrade. We are extremely proud of this accomplishment of ours. All of this and more, is simply done because we truly care.
